TASK 2. ESSAY

D) Kavaliauskienė G. (2009) says that translation does not help students to develop communication skills. Translation activities may be suitable for students who prefer analytical or verbal-linguistic learning strategies.

Nowadays, the translation is present practically in any way in our environment, it is for this reason that I think that the translation helps students to develop communication skills, because we find the translation from the series that we see in some channels. of television, movies, web pages, songs and traditional books. Although one of the difficulties of translation is the possibility of losing part of the message which is a problem that the translator must be prepared to face and to know how to solve, then here we can observe that this type of situations help us improve our skills of communication, because this will take us to dominate little by little with the practice that our English is naturally, we can improvise and not let lose the idea of the text. Therefore people who study a foreign language at some point in their life have been exposed to some kind of translated material, however, and despite this there are many people who do not realize the importance of translation in our lives and not only that, but the importance it has in the interpretation. For this reason, the present essay intends to give a general panorama with respect to the words of the author where he says

Students of foreign languages can find the translation in the environment in which we live, for these reasons there is no doubt that translation is very important and is part of our lives. However, this requires study and dedication because this allows us to solve problems that arise when not knowing other languages but we must take care not to change the meaning of the words, so that the main idea is maintained. On the other hand translations of texts into other languages help to globalize knowledge, this means that it would be impossible to know all the information we have both on the internet and in books and journals if translators did not exist.

It should be noted that translation activities may be suitable for students who prefer analytical or verbal-linguistic learning strategies focused on learning and mastery of verbal-linguistic intelligence; in the comprehension and expression at the oral and written level, which likewise the debate, the storytelling and the interviews, allow to develop the capacity for reading and writing, and that the teacher can apply within any educational environment to improve the teaching and learning process. In these cases the dramatizations are very useful to induce topics that require research in books, the Internet, stories and novels, which subsequently have to write and rewrite the dialogues. The secret is to touch subjects related to the interests according to the age and hobbies of the students.

In conclusion, it remains to say that translation brings us many advantages in our lives. It allows us to solve basic problems. It also allows us to access knowledge and know the contributions of other people who do not share our language. And from the literary point of view, it allows us to know works that otherwise would remain unknown. For this reason it is good that we value the work of the translators.
